Trivia: She pursued her modeling career in Paris for a brief period in 1996 but later chose to concentrate on a more Turkey-oriented career. Although more focused in the beginning towards sailing and swimming for full-time sports activities, she later switched to volleyball and played in the principal team of the top Turkish club of Fenerbahçe. Tugba is also an accomplished motorcycle rider. In 1998, she presented a programmer on the automobile world on a TV channel. In 1995, she was elected Miss Model of Turkey, and then became the first runner-up to the Miss Model of the World in the final contest. She started modeling in 1994 with a Vakko fashion show. A landmark of her career came when she took part in the Turkish version of the game show The Wheel of Fortune assisting the presenter Mehmet Ali Erbil. She is also immensely popular in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus where she was elected best model in 2001. She was elected 1995 Miss Model of Turkey, and then became the first runner-up to the Miss Model of the World in the final contest. She was also chosen as the contestant who had the best body.

She received the MGD national award in 2004 as "best Turkish model". As of 2005, she also started accepting roles in films and TV serials. She played in the feature film Kısık Ateşte 15 Dakika ("15 Minutes On Low Heat") in 2006, and she appeared in the TV series Zehirli Çiçek ("Poisonous Flower"), Doktorlar ("The Doctors") and Sessiz Gemiler ("Silent ships"), respectively in 2005, 2006 and 2007.
